mental overload and Erin Condren.

I apologize that the Real Housewives post isn't up yet. We are having some technical difficulties. It will be posted as soon as possible. :) You're gonna love Megan. She is one fly chick.

Anyway, the past few days I have had a bad case of mental overload. You know when your mind just keeps going and going and going and has a million different ideas at once and you have too many different categories for your thoughts to go into so they get jumbled and you forget things and your brain becomes one big ugly run-on sentence with no end...

I know that it's probably nothing compared to the minds of moms. Because they have other human beings in their care to think about. So mad props to you moms out there. Someday if the Lord gives us children I will be asking you to teach me the ways of your multitasking minds.

Until then, my Erin Condren planner finally came in to help me with all of this madness inside my head.

It's pretty.

I'm not going to tell you all of the details of this planner because there are many, many bloggers out there who have already done that. But I must say, it's worth the hype.

Not worth $50 in my opinion....but worth $25. :) So watch out for those good deals you can get. I got my coupon through Plum District and I think they do it multiple times a year.

I had a hard time picking out which design I wanted, but I finally went with the one that looked most like ME. I think this one does. And I love it.

I like how the planner splits up morning, day, and night. Quite helpful. I even got some cool colored Sharpie pens to color code my tasks. I have always loved to color code everything in my planners. Even way back in my high school days.

But something that is a bazillion times more important than writing stuff down in my planner is finding rest in the Lord.

"Then Jesus said, 'Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.'"
Matthew 11:28

To spend time in the Word and in prayer eases my mental overload like nothing else.

It does me a lot more good than a nap or a massage or a planner or a lazy day ever could. It refocuses me. Makes me realize what truly matters. Reminds me of my purpose. Puts everything into perspective.

I am so thankful that God gave us the gift of His Word and the ability to communicate and have a relationship with Him. This isn't about religion, people. It's so, so much more.

If you want to find the rest and purpose that I am talking about, please do not hesitate to ask me about it. Erin Condren may change your life, yes, I'm not denying that. But living a life for Jesus? That changes EVERYTHING.
