It was so special even though it wasn't a typical Valentine's Day.
I wouldn't have believed you if you had told me that a year later I'd be about to get married.
(God's plans are crazy awesome.)
So what are we doing this year for Valentine's Day? you may ask.
Well, I've been having the Truck of Love deliver little treats and vouchers to Jordan for the past two weeks. He has enjoyed it. :)
Yesterday in the car on the way home from his basketball game, Jordan randomly asked me if I wanted one of my Valentine presents early. Normally I would say no, but he really wanted to give it to me because he said I would want it today. His excitement made me want it early indeed.
I thought he meant when we got home, but no, he just whipped out my present right then and there.
It was Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred video.
Now, many people would probably find that offensive. Like a "Happy Valentine's Day, honey, go lose some weight!" type of statement. But I was so pumped.
I've been wanting that video for a long time. Although I do go to the gym, I also love working out at home using my Zumba Wii game or Just Dance Wii game. There's no excuse because all I need is half an hour in the comfort of my own home.
So yes, I started the 30 Day Shred today and I am already liking it. :) Well, I liked it a lot more when it was over. But what I mean is that I'm so glad I'm doing it. We'll see how it goes! I told Jordan that I'm going to look like Jillian after 30 days, and said "please no." Haha.
I have a couple more surprises for Jordan...and then tomorrow he's taking me to see The Vow and out to dinner.
WAIT, WHAT?? Is what the people just said to their computer screens who know me well.
I don't like chick flicks. Unless Fever Pitch counts as a chick flick. The closest I come to chick flicks are Disney movies. But I had made a few comments about how The Vow looks like it's a great story and how I do like Rachel McAdams.
So the other day Jordan proposed that we go see it tomorrow. I was pretty shocked. He said that we've never seen a "girl movie" together, which is true. So I'm excitedddd!
What are y'all doing for Valentine's Day? Whether you're in a relationship or not! :)

Sounds like that was a great Valentine's Day! I'll be staying at home doing nothing with my family, and my sister is bringing my 7 week old niece over so that will of course be great :)
ReplyDeleteI was going to burst your bubble and tell you that you got the worst present EVER for Valentine's Day...but then you said you already did it and liked it. ;) Pretty sure I turned the DVD to "audio off" after my first time doing it because I didn't want to hear Jillian "encouraging" me anymore. It is really hard and I got too bored with it and had to start doing other videos, too...need some variety. I'm sure you are more disciplined than I am though! The movie date sounds perfect!
ReplyDeleteAwh! It sounds like a wonderful Valentine's day!! :)

ReplyDeleteI did the shred........oh my word. I've never been so sore in my life. It was hard to sit down for days...but I really liked it! We saw The Vow this weekend. It was one of my favorite movies. One of the things I loved is that it is based on a true story! Can't wait to hear how you like it!
ReplyDeleteJust came across your blog today... new follower here! Love what you posted about celebrating love and celebrating God because you can't have one without the other. Each Monday I post a topic in my "Being a Biblical Wife in a Modern World" (BWMW) series and today was all about God and love and truly celebrating what Valentine's Day stands for. Love your blog! Have a great day girl xoxo
ReplyDeletelove your view on GODS love verses seeing it as a romantic day :).
ReplyDeleteI enjoy doing nothing special on Valentines day because I don't really see the significance but your perspective is definitely the one I want to undertake. I can't wait to have kids and bless them with extra symbols of love like you did with your parents :). Have a blessed day seeing THE VOW with your husband though girl. Love that he got you something you really wanted.

ReplyDeleteAwh, The Vow is definitely not an ooey-gooey love film, so I think you'll be okay. And Fever Pitch? Awesome.

I love this - "You don't have to celebrate love in a romantic way. You can use Valentine's Day as a good excuse to shower God's love on others even more than usual." It helps to know this when you don't have a significant other! :) Thanks for posting!! :) Happy Valentine's Day! <3 Love your blog!!
