wednesday witness - week 2.

As promised, another Wednesday Witness post. To read about what that means you can read the original post, and you can check out week 1 here. I am disappointed in myself this week. I gave a gospel tract to a cashier and made a little comment about it, and then Jordan and I gave a tract to our waitress. I mean, I know that's a start, but I want to be having conversations with these people. Which means I need to communicate with people who aren't busy or working or whatever. This week I'm going to look for more opportunities to have actual conversations.

There is a group of young boys who skateboard and play outside of our apartment frequently, and I've talked to the oldest one about Jesus before briefly. So I've been wanting to have more interaction with them and meet the other kids. Yesterday when I was at home I heard them outside, so I quickly popped some cookies in the oven in hopes of enticing them with food. But as soon as the cookies were ready, the kids were gone. :( Next time I'll be ready though. I'll have some sort of snack that's already prepared. I'm definitely eager to talk to them and praying about it.

This past weekend Jordan and I went to visit my best friend Ashlee and her husband in Wilmington, which I'll probably talk about tomorrow. But she totally inspired me by telling me about how she's been sharing the gospel with some people she knows and works with. That's even harder than sharing with strangers, because she's around those people daily! It takes a lot of guts. And I don't mean that she's just throwing it in to conversation, she is laying it out clearly for them talking about the whole plan of salvation and why we need a Savior. It encouraged me a lot to hear about it and how God has given her opportunities. I'm so glad I have a friend to give me support and who I can look to as an example. Praise the Lord!

  1. Don't be disappointed... remember that the tract you gave was planting a seed. God is seeing the desire in your heart and He will provide those He wants you to dig deeper into their soul and plant a bigger seed. I am just thankful for your heart being willing. It has made me think of you often and pray for you over this!

  2. I was just catching up on all the blogs I haven't read of yours which led me to this one...You are so sweet and you encourage me with your desire to witness as well. The only way that I can even have those conversations is through the Holy Spirit. If I let my flesh take over, then I would run away in fear. I think that it is awesome that you have started blogging about this for accountability. Just a little encouragement that I have to remind myself: don't let the devil feed you lies that you're not doing enough or that what you're doing isn't that great or that you don't even know how to share the gospel. God will use any seeds, big or small. I love you best friend!
