wednesday witness - week 5. on thursday again.

Sorry I waited until Thursday...again. I will try my hardest to actually post on Wednesday next week. Then all can be normal again.

Anyway. I gave out some more tracts. That was cool. Still no in-depth gospel conversations with random strangers. I'm still praying for that. It's going to happen someday! And I'm already praying for opportunities at the beach. I remember when I was in middle school doing outreach on the beach, and it was usually good because people can't get out of it. They don't have somewhere to be, they definitely have time, and they're not that busy, because they're on the beach. No excuses for the beach people. So HA!

In addition to "Harry" and "Hermione", there are two other people who I'm getting to know that I'd love for you to help me pray for. Let's call them Ron and Ginny. I'm just sticking with the theme here. So Ron and Ginny would probably tell you that they're Christians. I know Ginny definitely would. But from having a few conversations with her, I think she may not know what being a Christian really means. Ron seems as though he wants to become a Christian, but he's hesitant - kind of having a mental battle about it. Help me pray that both of their hearts will be softened and that they won't be able to shake these thoughts about Christ. I don't even want them to be able to sleep. Just kidding. But not really.

One of my friends, who is becoming a very good friend actually, recently became a Christian and is growing like crazy in the Lord. It is AWESOME. She will probably read this and know that I'm talking about her and hopefully she won't mind. :) But that is one of the most encouraging things - seeing someone change and ask questions and grow so much. I am constantly inspired by her. She consistently reaffirms the fact that God is the One who changes lives. She helps remind me that it is not up to me if someone becomes a believer or not - it's up to God. What a comforting reminder! I don't have to worry about fumbling over my words so much or fret about if I said the right things to someone. It's completely in God's control! I'm so thankful that I can be used at all for His glory. Anything I do for Him is absolutely through Him and not through me. Hallelujah. And praise God for a friend who can encourage me so much even though she's a brand new sister in Christ!

Do you have someone who inspires you like that? If not, pray for that inspiration. We can all use reminders of God's amazing, life changing power!

  1. It is wonderful that your friend shared that it isn't up to you... it is God's working through them that draws Him to them to be saved. So many times we try to work so much harder to "get someone saved" when all God wants to do is use us in His way for His glory. I've been there... I understand. It is amazing how God puts people in your path to whom you can be that witness of Him. I've been praying for "H & H" this week and will now add "R & G" to that. You will find there are MANY people out there who are like "G".... they just don't realize they have no relationship with Christ. Steve and I are doing a Bible study with a couple this summer and the wife was that way last year. I was able to lead her to the Lord and we are asking the Lord to help us help both of them grow in Him. The thing is... you can't MAKE someone grow. I have learned that. You just have to keep repeating the same things over and over until it sinks in from the Lord.

Sorry for a long message. lol :)
